Our Firm
Legal Counsel Rooted in Patience and Precision
Sukhothai Law was built around a conviction that individuals deserve careful, independent guidance on pension matters — free from institutional pressure and unadorned by inflated promises.

Why Sukhothai Law Exists
The firm was founded by practitioners who observed, across years of legal work in Bangkok, that a particular category of person was poorly served: the individual who had a genuine question about their pension record but no obvious place to take it. Employers rarely volunteered corrections. The Social Security Office processed forms but did not offer independent readings. And general-practice lawyers frequently lacked the focused knowledge needed to engage meaningfully with pension law.
Sukhothai Law was established to address that gap directly. The name draws from the ancient capital to the north — a place associated in Thai cultural memory with measured governance and considered craft — values we try to carry into our daily practice.
We do not take on every category of legal work. Our practice is limited to pension matters: reviewing statements, pursuing employer contributions that were not paid, and maintaining long-term counsel relationships with clients who value an ongoing professional view on their retirement planning. This focus allows us to develop depth rather than breadth, and to stay current with changes in Thai pension and social security law as they occur.
Our Mission
What We Stand For
Independence
We hold no relationships with employers, pension administrators, or financial institutions. Our view on your record is formed without influence from parties with an interest in the outcome.
Honest Assessment
If your record appears correct, we will tell you so. We do not manufacture grounds for further proceedings when none are warranted. Clients value this because it allows them to trust the outcome when we do identify a matter worth pursuing.
Measured Process
We work at a pace that allows for careful reading. Pension matters rarely need to be rushed, and we do not treat them as though they do.

Thai Bar Membership
All legal advice at Sukhothai Law is provided by practitioners registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand. We hold current practising certificates and meet the required continuing legal education obligations each year.
Client Confidentiality
Information you share with us regarding your employment history, pension record, and personal circumstances is held in strict confidence and not disclosed to third parties without your consent except where required by law.
Written Engagement Terms
Before any billable work begins, we provide a written engagement letter that sets out the scope of work, the fee, and the conditions of the engagement. There are no verbal agreements that later become disputed.
Conflict of Interest Checks
We carry out a conflict check for each new client before accepting an engagement. Where a conflict exists, we will inform you promptly and, where appropriate, assist in identifying alternative counsel.
Continuing Legal Education
Thai pension and social security law is amended periodically. We monitor legislative updates, regulatory guidance, and relevant case decisions to ensure our advice reflects the law as it currently stands.
Written Findings After Each Review
Every Pension Statement Review appointment concludes with a written summary of findings. This document is yours to keep, share with family members, or return to if your circumstances change.
About Our Practice
Pension Legal Work in Bangkok: What We Do and Why It Matters
Thailand's pension system operates across several schemes — the Social Security Fund for private sector employees, the Government Pension Fund for civil servants, and various provident fund arrangements administered by individual employers. Each scheme carries its own rules about contribution rates, benefit calculation, and the rights of members when disputes arise. Navigating these rules without legal guidance is difficult; navigating them when you suspect something has gone wrong is considerably more so.
Sukhothai Law works with individuals who have reached a point where a professional, independent eye on their pension record is warranted. Sometimes the issue is a statement that simply does not look right and needs to be read carefully before any decision is made. Other times, a client has clear evidence that a former employer failed to remit contributions as required by law, and formal steps are necessary to recover what should have been paid. In other cases, a client simply wishes to have a continuing professional relationship so that as their circumstances and the law evolve over time, they are not facing those changes without informed guidance.
Our office at 425 Ratchadamri Road, in the Pathum Wan district of Bangkok, is accessible by public transport and located among the professional and commercial institutions that many of our clients already deal with in connection with their financial and legal affairs. Appointments are available Monday through Friday, with limited Saturday morning availability for clients who cannot attend during the working week.
