Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to questions we hear often from clients considering a pension review.

What does a pension statement review actually involve? +
We read through the statement you have received from the Social Security Office or administering authority, compare each item against the employment and contribution history you describe, and identify anything that looks inconsistent or that may warrant a formal question to the authority. You receive a written summary at the end.
How do I know whether my employer paid contributions correctly? +
Your pension statement will show the periods and amounts recorded. If you notice gaps or figures that do not match your recollection of your employment, that is worth examining. Our employer contribution recovery service begins with a review of your documentation before any formal steps are taken.
What documents should I bring to an initial appointment? +
The most useful documents are your recent pension statement, your work history (employment contracts, payslips, or Social Security contribution records if you have them), and your Thai ID or passport. If you do not have all of these, we can still proceed — we will advise what to gather as we go.
How long does the employer contribution recovery process take? +
It depends on the employer's response and the complexity of the employment record. Some matters are resolved through correspondence within a few months; others where the employer is uncooperative may require formal proceedings, which adds time. We will give you a realistic assessment early in the process.
Is the long-term counsel service a subscription or a retainer? +
It is structured as an annual engagement, renewed at the start of each year if the client wishes to continue. The fee of ฿8,000 covers the initial detailed review, a set number of update consultations per year, and access to focused appointments when specific matters arise. Details are set out in the engagement letter before any work begins.
Do you handle matters for foreign nationals working in Thailand? +
Yes. Foreign nationals who were employed under a work permit and subject to Thai social security deductions are entitled to the same pension records and contribution history as Thai employees. If you have questions about your record from a period of employment in Thailand, we can assist.
What is your approach if you find no issue with my statement? +
We will say so plainly. Our written summary will reflect that the statement appears consistent with the information you have provided and that no particular items require further action. That outcome is a perfectly good result — it gives you confidence about your record.
