Why Choose Us
What Sets Independent Pension Counsel Apart
The difference between general legal advice and focused pension law counsel is the depth of knowledge brought to each reading, each letter, and each decision about whether to proceed further.

Core Advantages of Our Approach
Pension Law Specialists
Our entire practice is devoted to pension matters. We do not divide attention across property, criminal, or family work.
Written Output Every Time
Each review produces a written summary — not just verbal notes — that you retain and can return to later.
Fixed Fees in Thai Baht
Each service has a stated fee. There are no variable billing arrangements that make the final amount uncertain.
No Institutional Affiliations
We hold no relationships with employers, the Social Security Office, or pension fund administrators — our view is independent.
Tactful, Unhurried Counsel
Pension matters are personal. We work at a pace that allows for careful consideration rather than rushed conclusions.
Current Knowledge of Thai Law
We actively monitor changes to pension and social security legislation so that our advice reflects how the law stands today.
In More Detail
Each Benefit Explained
Professional Expertise
Practitioners at Sukhothai Law have spent their careers working within Thailand's pension law framework. This includes knowledge of the Social Security Act, the Government Pension Fund Act, and the provident fund regulations that govern employer-sponsored schemes. When we read a pension statement, we know what each line represents and which regulatory basis underlies the figures.
- Registered Thai bar members with current practising certificates
- Focused exclusively on pension and social security matters
- Active continuing legal education on pension law developments
Structured Process
Each engagement follows a clear sequence: initial documentation review, appointment, written findings, and a defined next step if one is warranted. Clients know at every stage what has been done, what comes next, and what it will cost. We do not keep matters open-ended or allow scope to expand without your knowledge.
- Written engagement letter before work begins
- Clear milestones for each service type
- Defined deliverables at the end of each engagement
Client Service
We respond to all enquiries within one working day. Appointments are available Monday through Saturday, including early morning slots for clients who cannot attend during standard office hours. Where a matter is progressing, we provide status updates without waiting for the client to ask. All communication is conducted in English, with Thai documentation translated as part of the service.
- One-working-day response to all enquiries
- Saturday morning availability for working clients
- Thai document translation included
Value & Pricing
Our fees are fixed and stated before engagement: ฿2,500 for a Pension Statement Review, ฿4,800 for Employer Contribution Recovery, and ฿8,000 for a year of Long-Term Strategy Counsel. These figures include the work described in the service scope. There are no additional charges for standard correspondence or document review within scope, and no time-based billing that escalates unpredictably.
- Stated fixed fee before any work begins
- No time-based billing for in-scope work
- Out-of-scope work discussed and agreed before proceeding
Results & Outcomes
We measure a successful outcome not only by recovered contributions or corrected records, but by the quality of the written findings we deliver. A clear, accurate summary of your pension situation — even one that confirms everything is in order — is a substantive outcome with long-term value. Where formal proceedings are needed, we pursue them with the evidence assembled during the review phase.
- Written findings with every review appointment
- Evidence-based approach to contribution recovery
- Honest assessment of whether formal action is warranted

What Makes Us Different
Distinctive Features of Our Practice
Written Summary as a Deliverable
Most legal consultations end with a conversation. Ours end with a document. The written summary of your pension statement review is a formal deliverable — structured, referenced to your actual statement, and signed by the reviewing practitioner. It is something you can share with family members, file for future reference, or use as the basis for further enquiry.
Service for Foreign Nationals
We have specific experience assisting foreign nationals who worked in Thailand under a work permit and are entitled to pension and social security records under Thai law. The intersection of Thai employment law, social security rules, and the practical language barrier is an area we navigate regularly — in English, without additional translation fees.
Annual Long-Term Counsel
Most law firms do not offer an annual pension counsel relationship at a fixed fee. We do — because we have seen how much changes in pension law over a decade, and how poorly served clients with complex circumstances are when they must seek out a new adviser each time a question arises. The annual engagement gives you continuity and a professional who already knows your situation.
Central Bangkok Location
Our office at 425 Ratchadamri Road is in the Pathum Wan district — a short walk from the BTS Ratchadamri station and close to the business and financial district where many of our clients work. For those who cannot attend in person, telephone consultations are available for the initial stage of each engagement.
